Taking a break

For the last couple of months I have been thinking a lot about what I want to do with Skeletons in the Closet. When I started nearly 20 years ago it was my love for Gothic and Victorian clothing that drove me to create. I wanted to create not only for myself but also for friends and family and later on for strangers I met at festivals or over the internet. To this day I still love to create. Also the look on the face of a customer who is wearing a gown that makes them feel confident and beautiful is so rewarding. I have been lucky to have had so many amazing people who wanted to wear my creations.

Running a creative business also means that you need to be both the creator as well as the head admin, the director, the social media content creator, the website builder, the photographer and all those other jobs. You also need to be up to date with all the rules and regulations and make sure that you have all paperwork in order. In the last couple of years I have noticed that all those tasks take the toll on the thing I actually want to do, and that is to create.

Therefore I have decided to take the rest of the year off and just go back to why I started, making whatever I feel like making. At the same time I am going to take the rest of the year to think about the direction and future of Skeletons in the Closet.

If you want to see whatever creative things I am going to come up with, follow me on Instagram.

I will also post on Instagram when I am ready to take on orders again.

Thank you for your understanding.

Love, Sannie
